EQUIVOC’ is a multidisciplinary production company of visual performances and choreographic installations, placing the body and the movement in the center of the artistic approach. The led search results on the diversity of the realizations going from contemporary dance to physical theatre via visual art and sound installation trying to awaken the senses, attracting the public to live a moment of intimacy with itself. Based is Montréal and founded in 2016 by Olivia Faye Lathuillière, Equivoc‘ represents today the artwork of two artists, Kim-Sanh Chau and Olivia Faye Lathuillière.

OLIVIA FAYE LATHUILLIÈRE is a Canadian visual artist, performer and choreographer, graduated from the National Superior School of Fine in Montpellier (France) and from the Lassaad International Theater School in Brussels (Belgium), where she took intensive training in movement theatre based on the pedagogy of Jacques Lecoq. She started creating installations and sound sculptures to gradually arrive into performing arts. The body in search of the essence, the idea of ​​the ephemeral is almost systematic in her work and plays constantly with the limits of the absurd. Constantly juggling between installation, performances through video and photography, now multi-disciplinary, her work has been presented internationally in the form of exhibitions or stage performances at festivals in Canada (OFFTA, Casteliers, Gallery 1313), Scotland (Manipulate Festival), England (Bristol International Festival, Tobacco Factory Theatre), Germany, Italy(Granma), France and in the USA (Sandglass Theatre(VT), La MAMA experimental Theatre(NYC), Agregate Space Gallery(CA)).

In 2016 she founds Equivoc’ to present her physical – visual artwork and to open new collaboration, exploring sound installation video and immersive choreographic research.  ig:oxlxo

Kim-Sanh CHAU

KIM-SANH is a Vietnamese-French contemporary dance artist, based in Montreal (Canada). Trained in dance at Paris 8 (France) and UQAM (Canada), she also holds a Master’s degree in finance (ACU/Australia, Aarhus University/Denmark et Harvard University/USA). Her choreographic work has been presented locally at l’Arsenal, Tangente, MAI, Accès Asie and Quartiers Danses festivals; as well as internationally at SIDance-HOTPOT, Sejong Festival (Korea), Europe Meets Asia in Contemporary Dance, Krossing Over Art Festival (Vietnam), Dancebox and RAW Art Space (Malaysia). Kim-Sanh Châu is also a screendance filmmaker. Her work, mostly collaborative, has been screened in Canada, Colombia, Germany, France, Italy and Vietnam. In 2017, she was awarded Best Direction 2017 by Festival Quartiers Danses for Inner Smoke. Finally, Kim-Sanh Châu is Artistic and General Co-director at Studio 303 (Canada).  ig:kimsanh

Pamela Masseport

PAMELA is a costume designer in the fields of circus, dance, and cinema (Grand Canadian Ballet, Cirque du Soleil, Cirque Franco Dragone), she has worked on shows in Canada, Europe and China. After studying costume design in Paris, she specialized in costume cutting at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts et Techniques du Théâtre de Lyon (ENSATT) in France and pursued her education with a post-degree year in scenography in which she has participated in several projects involving set design, costume design, sound, and light design and scenic writing. She joined Equivoc’ in 2015 as a conceptual assistant and as project coordinator.
